no regrets, you will love the older car (though I am not a builder.....)

driving it is amazing - I was in a 69'S about a month ago. Short gears and a new motor - holy crap I would swap for my car in an instant - really really enjoyable car to drive

Best of luck on the sale

BTW potential buyers.... Ed's car is amazing and very well kept. If I was in the market for a 996 I would have no issues buying this one, great example

The Porsche 996 buyer who is familiar with it's associated 'issues', will certainly value all the upgrades your 911 already has. I would hope your selling price would reflect that, so you can get started on your rally Porsche project with your son. Based on the work you have performed, it's obvious to me that you have plenty of skills to bring to the table, and will no doubt have fun with your future Porsche.GL

Thanks guys much appreciated. Prices are always negotiable and I'm not looking to dump the car. So priced to sell quick is not critical.

Oh man Ed!! I've been out of town for the winery events you and your wife were able to coordinate (with the most awesome reserved parking! ), and now it looks like I'll have to wait a looooooong time before another happens.

Best of luck with the sale. I know how it is to get an itch to build; I think you and your son will be happy campers.

Yeah, there will be more. I bet that when this goes I'll make the Audi a little more sporty too, (read, fast enough to keep up with the Boxsters! The leaves are changing at the winery. Best to get out there before they drop!

Hope you're gonna stay in the neighborhood, Ed, even after you sell it... You're definitely a respected member of this community...
