Default Dallas, Texas anyone?

I posted this at 997 as well: I am considering leaving my Audi RS4 behind to become a Porsche owner. I am in New England, considering a 2007 997TT with nearly 13K miles, for sale in Dallas at Straight Line Automotive Group (dark blue on grey). Would anybody enjoy checking it out on my behalf? Who has experience with "Inspect My Ride"? This company offers help with out of state purchases. I will ask their assistance if they are bona fide. Hope I posted in the right area.

Much obliged!

Peter

I will try my best to get by there this week - they have a black 01 TT I want to see in person. Don't know much about them, but I have come across a lot of their ads and they seem to have really nice cars. No telling what the condition is in person - I'll be sure to post up for you if I get a chance to check them out in the next few days.

Don't know anything about that inspection company, but I would strongly recommend sending the car over to RUF in Dallas for a PPI if you end up deciding to go forward. I have complete faith in Hans and the team there to do a complete checkout - about $250 and well worth it.

Just purchased my 2002 996 from Staight Line about 3 weeks ago. It had a couple things that needed repair..they did it all AND gave me a loaner. Just talk to John, he's a no BS guy. That said, you ARE missing the candy if you don't go there yourself. I have never seen so many Porsches, Ferrari's, Rolls, Bently, Lambo Maybach.....in one place.

That would be super, particularly if you get there before Thursday, when the bidding will be over... Others rave about Hans at Ruf as well. Can I ask you how this PPI thing works? Do I make the sale contingent upon PPI?

Thanks so much!

Great! That makes me feel better. I will call John. Unfortunately I have no days of until Thanksgiving. I would love to take a peek! Thanks for sharing the photo album. Any pics of yours?

Yes, once you have agreed on a price, you make everything contingent upon a PPI. Call Hans and schedule it, then use the report as a final negotiating tool to have whatever issues addressed. At least then you are going in with eyes wide open.

Not sure if I can get by there before Thursday though - I'll let you know if I can.

I am on Sabbatical and would be happy to go by there and get the car and take it to RUF. If you want to get the clearance from Straight Lane I'll take care of the rest with Hans. (He's on my speed dial). Why don't you shoot me an email at roylwhitehead@gmail.

Yep. I just posted pictures yesterday in 996 forum. I can't help out much looking at the car, I'm a newbie. Hell, I sat in the car when I was there..but it does need to go to RUF..it's only about 20 miles at the most. Glad the other guys could help out....that's the way we roll in Dallas

Thanks, all! Roy took it for a drive, and it's at RUF now. We'll see!

Has Ruf had a chance to evaluate the Porsche that you are interested in yet?
