Whats up guys? Been outa the game for a minute, but im back, just bought (a car that i actually built for my accountant) a 03 C4S, but you guys know me, its worked to hell, has a brand new euro spec GT3 engine w/ fabspeed headers, exhuast, programable ecu and a cold air kit, she nasty as hell, it aint a 934 but she holds her own, heres a few pics
I need you guys to help me, i wanna put a nasty huge wing on her, but there are so many i cant make up my mind, please feel free to post pics of any ideas, thanks guys ttyl
Please pardon my ignorance guys, but is it the GT3 motors or the turbo motors that are of a different design and do not have the IMS issues. Please forgive me as I'm not trying to hijack the thread, just interested in the knowledge. Thanks.
Both the twin turbo and the GT3 (in addition to the GT2) are derived from the GT1 block (in addition to the 964 and the 993s), and have a different chain arrangement with a different bearing that is not commonly known to fail, though the 996 Carrera has proven very reliable from my experience.
Anyway, the GT3 engine would be quite the amount of work to swap into a Carrera 4 chassis, doubly so from a year that was never sold in the U.S. to pass OBD II inspections. I suppose you can get a "euro spec" engine, but use the engine/chassis computer from a U.S. market GT3, however you'd also need an entire cluster, not to mention synching them, etc. I don't see it being a cost effective set up. Mark me up for one of those asking pictures of the engine... By the way, what's different about a "euro spec" engine, to my knowledge the mechanicals are one and the same.
Whats up guys? As i stated in my 1st post the car was built for my accountant, guys got more cash than he can spend in 1 lifetime!! LOL No bull**** its a GT3 eurospec engine, the engine bolted right up as for any electricals and software that was done at Fabspeed in PA, i know this for a fact cars got over 10k in software to make it work, here a a few pics, when wifey wakes up i can make a sound clip.I did all the mechanical work, engine swap, clutch, trans, but as far as software, i dont have the correct diagnostic equipment to do that.
