I use break quiet sparingly.. but also find that dry is fine....a little noise these days bothers me very little, once they get warmed up they shut up

How about this stuff?

I know some parts stores also have a paste you brush on the back side of the pads for the same result. Don't know if this what you are looking for. Hope it helps.

Pete... you run dry?

I put nothing on the 86' pads....normally I use some orange pasty stuff I have several bottles of....but I went dry.... easier to remove, seems I go thru pads faster than when I was young

Yup.....never had a squeal issue........until I put my street pads on last weekend after a DE. First time it happened. I have some gooey stuff to put on and will do so this weekend. Got it from Autozone. My neighbor who has a 964 put some sort of silicone rubber based product on his pads and he has no noise at all. It is red or orange don't recall. btw...he is currently driving 10 hours out to NY for a DE at the Glen. Lucky bastard.

So is there anything for the dampners? Or a particular glue? Or should I just ignore putting them back in?

you know me... never have just one of anything

use this stuff.. but a little is fine. You dont have to and if they make noise you can always add it later - you apply it on the contact areas... smells great when it gets hot

Thats the stuff! I think it goes on where the pistons make contact with the pad.

contact area = the place metal and metal would touch (piston ring - circle- to back of pad)

If your talking about the damper pads that go on the back of the brake pads I use 3M Super 77 spray adhesive. Been using it for years with no problem.
