Default '99 C2 Aero 55k trying to buy

Hello all, I have been offered a 1999 C2 Aero Kit coupe Black/Gray 55k miles BUT it has 2 accidents on the Carfax seemingly fixed correctly. One was prior to the current owner the other shortly after he purchased it. How badly does this hurt the value assuming the damage was cosmetic and all checks out?
Help !

If it is superficial I wouldn't worry about it. If it was frame damage where things had to be stretched and pulled to make right I would walk. Or just use it as a bargaining tool on the purchase if all checks out. Besides the value on these are in the tank and slowly coming back. If its a true Aero it might worth getting. Hope that completely confused you because it did me.

Its supposed to be a factory Aero, but I sort of wonder. Would that be on the option list under the hood? If so what is the Aero Kit code? I dont know that the owner is as up on these cars at the people on here.

awe - be careful.... I had a car with accident history and when I went to sell it people would basically hang up when they asked and I (in good faith) told them "yes, but minor, and they were repaired corre (click)... hello???

tough to re-sell, fun to own !

01' Aero in my area just popped up for $32k

Is there any way to substantiate the severity of the 2 accidents, ie. pics taken before/after? You might also have a Porsche shop(indy or dealer) look at the repairs, frame etc. while doing a thorough PPI. Resale will take a hit as mentioned, but pricing might be in a range of $20-25k if the accident were minor.GL and don't be afraid to cross over from air to water.

I am hoping to seller can tell me something about the accidents. He is "sick of shifting" and wants an LS430 Ultra Lux that I have. I have delt with lots of Porsches over the years but usually when I hear damage I run. I doubt to car will be a keeper for me but I want to be safe in it. I never like to go into a deal blind and this is THE place to come for an accurate assessment. It does have a 60k service done and fresh tires which are nice but I am only looking at photos.

I agree with the $20-$25k comment. I sold my 99 Factory Aero last summer for $22.3k. But the market was dead quiet then. Mine was mint, and slightly modified with 62k miles. Black on tan.

I won't even tell you what I've seen standard 99's selling for recently, in fear of wrath from the Board, but suffice it to say that the Factory Aero plastics definetly seems to demand at least a $2-4k premium. I think it was a $10k or 12k option originally, or thereabouts.

With respect to the accident history, I agree with Ed. Simply is not a good fact, especially when you go to resell it.

Of course, if you love the Aero, and it checks out, and the price if right (for you!), then every issue can be price adjusted.

I'd say that unless you are picking up this car for $17k or less, you should keep walking.

If you don't intend to keep it, it's gonna be a real bitch to sell in a good or bad market.
