Yeah i never saw the attraction to the tiptronic (dare i say it was to lure women buyers,or those who lived in high traffic areas), but i was in love with the color - Vesuvio Metallic with Sport classics...WOW. At the time the price was right, times were different and it was something different. That said I enjoyed my '95 Cab (6-speed) a LOT more. Just way more mechanical and old school.

do share

the 996 6 speed is quite smooth and easy to drive. they have a nice clean feel to the shifts. I really liked mine and as many have done I swapped the shift assy with a 997.

never drove a 993 so cannot compare for you but I am sure the 6 speed would be a better apples to apples then the tip was - thats the color of Eharrison's 996 (or "grey" as the police woould write on a ticket)

Funny you say that because when i got a ticket in that one the cop asked "so, uh what color is this thing...purple...grey...." i said ..."well its vesuvious of course"- which actually appears on the ticket. He looked at me like a I had 3 heads. I was like 26 or 27 at the time. Police don't typically dig young guys in classy cars even where I live where most cars are rather upscale. Just recently the very same cop actually pulled me over in a CTS-V for SERIOUS speeding and first thing he said was...."Hey....your that "Porsch"- guy from like 5 years ago." I had to post $600 bail for that one. Moral to the story...if your gonna speed do it in a Porsche NOT a Cadillac with a Corsa SS exhaust....busted my *** for 'Noise pollution'....its a funny world.

55K 99' aero.. 2 accidents but is it straight? Do the doors shut the same on both sides? Does it align correctly? 24-27. I wouldnt let mine got for any thing under 21 and it has 119K on it. But no accidents other than a smushed dog by the OO and the front Bumber cover was repainted.

ive been doing crazy research the past 3 weeks trying to buy a porsche, from what ive seen, is to be safe, i wouldn't pay more than $16,000 for any 99" and if it has accidents, when you goto sell it in the future expect a huge hit-

the aerokit was a 5k option

Car is supposed to be straight. Has been properly maintained from new and has fresh 60k service done last month, no leaks or rms issues. I have not personally laid eyes on it. Based upon what i can determine the car is pretty nice and I suspect the seller has been trying to shop this car for some time. We have made an offer and will see what happens. The car he is looking at buying is exceptional and hard to find in the specification so hopefully we can come to terms. Only thing is we are about 200 miles apart so always like to have numbers laid out first before having someone come in to avoid wasting anyones time.
