Default Road trip pictures and the strange stuff you see on the road

Boston to NYC and back over the weekend - cool and weird stuff you see on the road, plus excellent fuel economy...

Weirdos on the NYC streets, and a sighting of a sad BMW 325i convertible that the owner had subjected to some of the most horrific mods I've seen - strange chrome badging everywhere and fake 'gills' along the front fender...And YES - he tried to race me...then block me, it was sad.

WHAT THE....

This guy was high out of his mind...

Cool pics, nice Ford pickup truck. So driving in boston...how does that compare to NYC with your Porsche? I was in Beantown yesterday, but took my wife's XC Volvo instead of my C2.

Ahh...well we were mostly in Soho and Meatpacking district in NYC. The roads are mostly cobblestone and frankly INTOLERABLE in the Porsche. The highway was a different matter. I've never enjoyed the drive so much and frankly even though I wasn't going much faster than in the sedans we usually take, the time just went by quicker. YES THE 911 IS A TIME MACHINE TOO :-)

No movie stars. I spotted this famous one of all places on side of old Route 66 in Santa Rosa, NM.

Sincerely,

Macster.

And I followed up with Ivangene's suggestion of dumping the idea of a car cover during the winter, and just put a lot of coats of wax. I put a couple of coats of Klasse AIO and then used the 303 Protectant on the fabric top. I used the suggestion of using a brush to apply it instead of the sprayer and turned out to be an excellent suggestion.

While it did not completely eliminate the rubbing spots, the top does look much newer, and the rain storm that swung by this weekend all beaded up on the roof. I've never had the top do that before! Pics aren't great - they were taken with a blackberry...
