I don't find the mileage argument so preposterous, that's for sure! I can't believe what a huge gulf there is between the mileage mine gets when it's in its element versus being used in city traffic. At 140 kph, I consistently use less than 10 liters per 100 kph. In city traffic, the number is more like 18.
