CPO extended warranty covers stereo?

CPO extended warranty covers stereo?
The stereo's on the blink. On dry days it appears to be functioning just fine. Now that damper weather has arrived, it is acting funny. The head unit seems to operate just fine (all buttons work, no rebooting issues, can hear the CD spinning) but there is no audio whatsoever.
I've done a few searches and have read that people have been able to get their stereo components replaced under warranty. The posts were never really clear whether this was the 4-year new car warranty or some other warranty.
My '04 C4S coupe was a CPO and is still on Porsche's extended coverage until February 2011. My local dealership (not to mention any names) recognizes and confirms the expiration date of the warranty, but claims that this warranty DOES NOT cover the good ol' Becker CDR-23 stereo or any component of it.
Is the dealership's service advisor correct in stating this?
I know a lot of you will reply "get a new head unit" but my reasons for not immediately doing this are two-fold: Firstly, I have that proprietary MOST bus to contend with, so replacing the stereo will quickly grow into replacing the fiber-optic Bose amp as well... then I'll be tempted to get speakers, etc. Secondly, I'm a stingy Asian guy who wants to get at least something out of the extended warranty before it runs out. (Kinda like intentionally overeating at a crappy buffet just to get your money's worth.) But yeah it's the principle.
Thanks!

If your car(s) are CPO, you should have been given documentation that explains that warranty coverage.
Here is a link to the Porsche website about CPO...hope it helps.

I was told the stereo was NOT cover under my CPO. Mine just expired last month.
Mine was the newer CPO. I never had an issue with the Nav system. Iwas just told it would not cover wear and tear items plus the radio.

The CPO warranty changed right around August of 2008. After August 2008, the warranty covered many more items and resemebled a new car warranty.
As you can see on the site, it now covers "comfort electronics". i would imagine that the radio is covered under the "newer" CPO warranty.
If your warranty was issued before August 2008, you are out of luck.
Removing the most system and putting in aftermarket is an expensive proposition...

Correct. Mine was CPO'd before August 2008 and ran into this issue with my coolant tank cap. It was considered a "non-moving" part and therefore not covered. I believe the CPO got better after August of '08.

I was told no by my dealer and they have been very good about addressing all of my issues. They will show me the part that needs repaired right on their screen and it shows whether it's covered by CPO or not.
I also have the exclusions list at home that they printed out.

But since your CPO Expires Feb 2011 that means your CPO kicked in FEB 09 that which means your Service Advisor is Wrong!!! And you are Covered!! Now punch him in the face now...

^^^Did you read that? If you car was CPO'd before AUG 2008, that mean you HAVE NO CPO NOW!! its Sep 2010 that 25 months... CPO is only 2 years or 24 Months. You said you CPO runs out in Feb 2011... So its either you or your service advisor who is miss informed...

Y'know... won't hurt to keep asking them, right?
Thanks Zookie. I think I'll be tenacious. Maybe they'll cave in.
Although I'll avoid punching someone in the face. Next closest dealer is 3 hrs away.
