Seattle area 996 market update
You guys might find this info helpful. A month ago or so I got a '99 996 C2 6-speed from a friend of a customer. 90k miles, 2 owners, solid car that had some superficial needs. Arctic silver over black.
I replaced the windshield, shift ****, driver side window regulator and a few other minor this and thats. I sold the oe 17" twist rims that had pretty decent rubber. I replaced them with 2005 987 Boxster S 18" wheels/tires that I had lying around. I am selling the stock 3-spoke steering wheel and sold the car with an oe 993 4-spoker I had.
The car had good service history with local shops and a clean Carfax. The clutch was 5k miles old. It was a great running solid car that still had a few very minor dings/scratches. The front bumper needs a re-do due to cracked paint on the nose from multiple doses of ignorant Seattle drivers. The car sold for $14k very quickly when I decided to not make it my dd. The new owner bought it as a driver and will just put a bra on the nose.

Dang, I was looking for a C4S there or a newer c4 and the same ones from Portland and Seattle kept coming up. The 2003 C4S I was looking at had 60,000 Miles and he wanted $34,500 for it.

looks sharp with the Boxster wheels; great price for a "beater" Pcar.

Yeah it looks pretty good and those rims bolt on. This one was a few steps above a "beater" and really a good car. 'prolly could have gotten a fair bit more but I cut the guy a good deal and the car will come back to me someday.

Someone got a great deal!
I recently sold my '99 Cab C2 Arctic Silver, 61k miles, very highly optioned, 2nd owner, pristine, all books, records, Factory replacement motor for more than double that. After 2 months the current owner is still very pleased with the car. A win/win for the both of us.
