Default Alarm system

so last night, i lock the car, windows are down, and then i realize i left the house keys in the car. i reach in, touch nothing, and the alarm goes off. it is as if there was a beam that i broke by leaning into the car. any insight is helpful. thanks.

It's the interior motion detector. Some people have had a trapped moth set things off.

And don't leave a receipt on the passenger seat with the window open and alarm on if it's windy.

It's the Uber-Xenon-Cyber-Fugawai beam. Lucky for you it didn't cut your arm off.

If you want to set the alarm without the interior sensors being activated, press the lock button on the key fob twice in rapid succession. The alarm will be armed but the interior sensors will be not be activated.

Good info - I was wondering why the lights blinked a bit different and there was a beep.
I was guessing: one press - doors lock, two quick presses - doors locked and alarm on.
Once again I was wrong - thanks for the info.

Good thing you found that out cruising around with the cab. There is lots of stuff in the owners manual. It's somewhere online for download too I think.
