No fading here on a black top, although my car spends most days in garage.

I take the sprayer off the 303, pour into a can, and brush on the product with a sponge paint brush. Use very liberally, you can"t overdo the application. After drying, you might see some residue left (dried 303), just brush or wash it off. Voila! This is much better than using Raggtop and having to mask off the windows, etc from overspray. The whole process takes about 1/2 hour ( after letting top dry throughly after cleaning). In the fall, I will apply a second coat, in about 1-2 days for further protection. Great Stuff!
