My '99 almost didn't start tonight - weak battery
The guy I bought the car from replaced the battery in January with an Interstate Mega-Tron Plus. I unscrewed the caps and sure as hell it needed a 1/2 cup of distilled water per cell. I hope thats all it was, the battery struggled to crank the starter, it did but sounded really slow. I added the H2O and went for a nice ride, got home and it cranked much faster when I re-started it.

Some times I think all it takes is for the engine to of been recently run be it heat sinking into the starter wires ruining electricitys path or the compressuion being a lot higher with freshly lubed cylinders. If there is a stereo with after market amp making sure the amp is off when the car is off is important. amps are best to be run with bigger batterys or two batterys. Its possible the previous owner was running an amp he took out and left the battery in that was being over worked.

Hmmmmm
If your battery has been recently replaced (January) and you need to already add water something else is may be up...
Water shouldn't leave that quickly, Check the voltage of the battery when the car is running to see if it's correct,
as the alternator may be overcharging and boiling/ steaming the water out. Or a cracked battery case (Unlikely).
Just a thought...
