Yes... the fluid reservoir is full. My headlight washers work fine. If I activate the windshield washers, the wipers come on, I no longer get any fluid sprayed on the windshield. Every now and then, it will spray for a second or two, then stop. I'm wondering if the pump motor is bad - I'll have to investigate further.

Does anybody else have experience with an issue like this? How hard is it to change the pump motor?

Too much experience with this! Behind the battery, the tube for your washer fluid connects to a T fitting that splits to the 2 windshield washers. Check to make sure that tube is securely in place. Mine comes off all the time.

Changing the pump motor isn't hard. It's the gaining access and removing the tank that's a PITA. To gain access to the fluid reservoir you go in via the driver side wheel well. Once the liner is removed there's a mounting bolt holding the tank in place.

If you are sure you have enough fluid in the tank then it's likely the motor or a loose hose. OTOH, if it's perpetually low then you may have a cracked tank.

My hose (the car's) works free from the connection during DE's for me. The fix like described above is to pull the left frt wheel off and liner (10mm plastic nuts) and reach in to find the loose hose. Takes about 15 - 20 minutes.

Thanks all. I'll check the connection and make sure I'm not spraying water on the ground instead of the windshield.

just had the same issue this past week; heard the pump running but very little water . Upon further investigation, as I sprayed, water runnoff coming from under driver side front wheel. Yep , right where the tank is . I asked my indi a few questions. luckily it wasn't a cracked tank, just the hose worked its way loose; put a small clamp on that. maybe even a small tie wrap would work also.

My headlight washers work fine, and I have no signs of a leaky tank. I assume they use the same tank - so that rules out a cracked or leaking tank in my mind. I'm hoping it's just a loose connection.

2000996MIA has good point......go to Home Depot / Lowes and look for a small spring loaded clamp. I have have been meaning to do that for the past year and forget to every time the hose comes loose. The hose is something like 4 or 6mm.

Well, I just tried it in the driveway. I can't actually hear the pump running when I hold the lever. The wipers activate, but I hear nothing. No water on the ground either. I'm leaning towards a bad pump.

Since the headlight pump is separate from the windshield pump that seems to make the most sense. Depending on the cost, I would wonder if it makes any sense to swap the tank as a preventative measure since you will be in there and have to remove it to change the pump anyway.

Mine isn't working either, Dennis. I can hear my pump working, just no spraying, though.

My "washer fluid" idiot light is on even though the tank is completely full--is yours?

My tank is full, and my warning light is not illuminated.

I'm going to guess that my problem is what everyone has been describing so far and that yours is a failed pump. Is there a fuse you can check?
