Default Ignition Switch Part Number

I did do a couple of searches but I want to make sure I get the correct number. I would like to buy the ignition switch (electrical socket portion) just to keep in the car. I have a 2003 C4 with the original ignition assembly. Which would be the correct PN for this part? Thank you in advance!

I'm fairly certain that for a 2003 you are looking for p/n 4A0 905 849B. They changed over to the newer 4B0 905 849 in 2004.

Please correct me if I'm mistaken about the year in which they changed. I do know for certain that the 2004 uses the 'B' part.

From TSB 4/03 2804 Replacement Ignition Switch -- dated 11-24-2003
All cars can (and should) use the 4B0 number or the complete new steering lock assembly.
