One of my mufflers is making a rattling/fluttering sound after an *ahem* spirited burn through the mountains.

I've located a replacement muffler locally from a 3.4 litre car. Will it bolt right up?

they are not the same.... the bracket mount have different location. You must use the 3.6 mount and bolt it on the 3.4 cans. On the 3.4 cans there isnt any accordian on the cat side pipes for easy alignment... as for sound, they are close but not quite. I would not mix match mufflers as it might have diff back pressures and can offset the balance of the exhaust... I would not take the risk, but that is just me.

you can mount either - my 3.4 did not have the accordian but the 3.6's do

Porsche says you can put 3.6 mufflers on a 3.4 - but you are not supposed to put 3.4 mufflers on a 3.6.

3.4 Cans have the accordion elbow also, those installed on Tips...AMHIK...

I thought the 3.4 mufflers on Tip cars had the harmonica elbow!
