I really like the look. The fit - not so much. Had a devil of a time getting it in there. Cold air intake interferes with the blower motor a bit. Sorry for the bad phone pics.

I don't get this mod?.

Is the 997 filter better than the 996? Does it resonate the sound more?

Actually sounds a bit quieter to me. But yes -- just looks much cleaner and nicer than the 996 housing and it's much easier to keep clean. On the flip side, changing the filter is much harder with the new housing.
