This may be a silly question - but how Should you turn off the Emergency Flasher? On two occasions I turned these on as I needed to pull over on the highway shoulder (don't ask why - senior moments) ... any way - just pushing the button again would not turn the dumb Flashers off. First time it happened they would not go off till I opened the Drivers door? Second time I needed to have the engine off Door open and headlamps OFF. Owners manual is mute on this? Is there a secret handshake required? Everything else on this car works great.

That switch has two possible clips to disengage kind of of c shape.
the lugs break real easy, if one breaks you only have a 50% chance of switching your Hazards off.

How can I remove that switch? And for that matter - can you take the top cover off the instruments?

Get some plastic trim tools, Remove switch Surround first (its tough)
Then you can pinch the lugs on the switch to slide it out toward you.

\that will be coverd in a Dash removal Tut either here or at rentech.

"MIND YOUR LEATHER AROUND THE SWITCH" use some cloth or mask it.
