Default Torque tube removal on a C4

I have removed a few number of 4 wheel drive engine/transmission on 993s, was wondering if the torque tube removal procedure the same on a 996? Pop the rubber cover unbolt two allen bolts and slide the spline connector?

I have been told the 996 is much easier then the 993's... that porsche made it simpler but not sure what is involved as I have not wittnessed one being removed, only removed and out already.. maybe someone can chime in....

SOOOOO

whats going on, I hear "remove front diff" and "Whats the RMS #" are we having a "roll around on your back" party ?

What else, transmission removal for the dreaded IMS prevention. While at it, RMS too.

take care to oreally inspect the cam chain tensioners for any wear on the sliding pieces... they can gawl and eventually stick... doing the AOS at the same time?

The front drive shaft comes down with the removal of 3 bolts from the transmission side and slides off the splined shaft at the front diff. Very quick and easy removal.
