Where to get OBDII reader?
I guess I need an OBDII based on what my car said last night. I keep reading that you can buy them cheap- I just don't know where.

A little more than an Autozone one... but this is specifically for your car with a lot more functionality.

I'd say go Durametric. You get real time data read outs plus save the data. There are two versions. The ver5 and ver6 which is a beta. The website says you can operate both on the computer....ha ha funny joke. I installed the regular ver5 first then felt frisky and install ver6 since they said it's cool. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A DESKTOP SHORTCUT to ver 5 first before installing the beta version 6. After installing ver6 the regular program route of START then PROGRAMS then Durametric leaves you only seeing the beta version. It takes away the version 5 shortcut for some unlnown reason. At least that is what happened to me with windows 7. I was lucky and the netbook I got with the same color as my car had a desktop link before installing ver6. Good luck and have fun. The comfort of the durametric telling you in plain language is very nice. This is instead of oh me lets browse for an hour to find what error code $#!* means. Then you get real time data which helps figure cause origins otherwise known as trouble shooting. Remember the plain jane durametric is not the race car version they sell that is designed for real time data while rolling. There is a warning in the software and there site stating the lower end version blah blah whatevers isn't to be taken as accurate while in motion.

I was using my Durametric yesterday - and what a great product. My car has developed an odd thing where at low speeds (below 11 MPH) the ABS engages when I'm on the brakes. For example, I'll be coming to a full stop, like at a light, and right before I come to a stop - bzzzezt - the ABS is doing its thing.
With the Durametric, I ran a diagnostic on the ABS/PSM system - no faults. Then I decided to "view data" and watch the inputs real time. It logs each wheel speed sensor plus a few voltages. I start moving in my driveway - bingo! The left rear wheel sensor doesn't spit back a value until 11 MPH. So, under 11 MPH, the car thinks the left rear wheel isn't spinning. When I'm on the brakes under 11, it thinks the ABS is needed to let that wheel rotate.
Let's see your Walmart/Autozone/Harbor Freight/etc. scan tool figure that out!
