Sumi HTRZ III or Kooks V12
#61
I just put the Hankooks on my car last week, and drove to a track event with them (CMP w/the PCA). They're not suitable for track use, and will be coming off the car. However, as a street tire, even aside from the very low purchase price, they're quiet, offer lots of grip (in their temperature range), and break away predictably. They're also very comfortable. Excellent street tire, and outstanding value. I'd had the Sumitomos on track also, I feel like they offer slightly less grip overall, but they may offer slightly better feedback.
You really have to pay for good tires, anything with more grip or better feedback is going to cost (a lot) more, and often give much worse noise/ride qualities. For a summer tire, the Hankooks just may be the smoothest/quietest tire I've had on a car.
