Default Canvas top, replacement, adhesive tape needed.

I am finishing off replacing my canvas top.

I have to say its one of the most difficult jobs, getting it apart and back together. No fun whatsoever.

I need the double sided tape that attaches the top in various places such as the leading edge.

Its clearly a high bond industrial tape. Any ideas where to get it from?

I'll check around on the internet, 3M usually has good products.

Cudos for DIY! What to do, the upholstery guy we have been using has been refocusing his business, 'not doing Porsche work any more, as mechanical shops are doing more of the work on their own'. Guess many of us are a glutten for punnishment . Did you use a kit (wasn't it a neccessary part?) or are you stiching it.

How about some pics...

Regards,

I found what I need, its 3M VHB tape 1/2" wide. I ordered a roll and just waiting for it to arrive so I can finish the install.

I bought a replacement top off Ebay. I was skeptical of what the quality would be like. They are advertised as "OEM" manuafacturer or similar words. I have to says I was pleasantly surprised. The quality is superb. It very very close to the original top in all respects. The fit is perfect. It has a sewn un rear window, which is my opinion is better than the factory welded seam.

I am very very pleased with it.
