Odometer tampering

I think you can only set it ahead but might be wrong. I'd never take the mileage as the reason for health. Try a dyno run or something more real like leak down test or just compression check with a durametric reading.
Older cars that sit and have low miles can have worse internals than a constantly driven and stirred car. Sitting lets moisture play hell on bearing surfaces and such where rust can form or corrossion jamming things up. Worse yet guys starting up cars with old oil that sat and sucked up oil. Good luck

Any odometer of any car can be changed. Which is scary. This includes hacks into ECU.

Someone could prolly just switch out the insturment cluster. Or does the mileage live in the computer somewhere? Sounds scary to me with the computers the dealer could probably tell if has been tampered with especially if the mileage is lower than the last time they hooked it up to a computer...

Many years ago I was going to buy a Carrera until I found a hidden switch under the dash that switched off the cluster. Now in the digital era of electronics, I guess anything is possible.
