Default Exhaust Tip Removal

Can anyone tell me how to remove exhaust tips on a 02+ car without removal the muffler? Aside from the difficulty of unscrewing the bolt from the clamp how do you spread the clamp enough to remove the tip?
Thanks!

once the bolt is out there is a large hole in both ends of the clamp..... stick a screw drive in each hole and lever them apart ..... btw the cans come off with 3 nuts and one clamp

Sounds like it's easier to remove the muffler to get to the tips.
I just installed Cargraphic mufflers and while removing the mufflers is straightforward I was hoping for an easier way to get to the tips.
Thanks

did you end up getting the FS tips? I almost went with black chrome, but opted for the standard chrome finish.

IMO, better off to remove the muffler; it's a tight space to wrestle in there to spread the clamp enough to remove the old tips and install the new ones;

I installed the FS SS clamps which work a heck of a lot better but still a bear to install while the muffler is on.
install the muffler with the tips just slightly tightened on since you still have to center the tips in the cutout area.

GL and post pics.

No, I'm still using the stock tips.
Actually, I lucked out because at the same time I installed the mufflers I installed an X74 suspension kit and as I was backing out of my driveway I scraped one of my tips. Not too bad but still left some scratches underneath the tip.
I might end up going with the FS single large oval. They're selling them on Ebay for a very good price.
I'm not looking forward to another removal of the mufflers but I guess that's on my to do list when I get the tips.

With the Cargraphic exhaust you do not have to remove the muffler. They have the removeable end piece that tip connects to.

Fly996, I thought all that was just an extender.
