Hello guys,
Wow what a journey!! I left last Friday and got back this morning at 2am! I left the car at the duty free at customs untill Canada day Thursday to start doing the export process.
I drove from Cali to Ottawa! Vegas heat was crazy hot even at night, Colarado mountains were sooo amazing, and anything past Colarado was straight boring!
I got stopped by a State Trooper in Nebraska lol, all was good. Just stopped me for no reason to see what's up.
My bumper is full of bugs and I can't wait to get the car in my driveway to detail it up!
What I noticed was the car is rougher at idle then my previous car, rougher shifting, and rougher all around. Makes sense though. Still have to get the 6spd mastered! It has a rattle on the left side of the exhaust that needs welding... so I didn't get the true noise throughout the trip....
Car ran strong but I noticed a slight rubber burning smell everytime I stopped after 14 hours of driving lol. Not sure if that's normal... The engine never went through that I bet. Engine is remanned and has about 27KM on it.
I was impressed with the 6th gear power! and got many compliments along the way!
I'll try to post pics after my meeting which is in 2 minutes... If I can't post them I will try later tonight off my home computer!
2003 cobalt blue C4S on grey interior. 57KM on it currently.
i'm in love!

Hey...Long way to go for a car! Can you give some insight on the total cost comparison. good 03-04 Ontario cars seem to be 40-50KCDN..I am hoping to move from my 944 to a C4s, however, kids university fund is competing for attention sadly...
Very nice car!

A few questions about the process since you did what I would like to do ... buy in California and drive it back to Canada. Did you buy private or dealer, did you have to pay state (or any other) taxes, how did it work with insurance. I see that you were able to drive with California plates, is that normal as well.
Thanks, I have done research on this but the process seems to change over time and be different for different states.
Thanks

Real nice car. Some times you'll get a wiff of the cosmoline the engine is coated with and some times not. Probably more pronounced with a newer remanufactured engine in there. Keep on crusing. I'm sure you're loving that aspect of the car. Once again fantastic car you found and enjoy.
PS try the south country road route through NE and shop at a small town grocery for local steaks. 10 times better than exported or anything on earth since it will be fresh and properly aged corn raised beef.
