Default Remote would not unlock door

My car sat for a week with the alarm set. Went to unlock it today and the remote would not do anything, although the light on the fob seemed brite as could be. Used the key to open the door, alarm sounded and reset fine when I hit the fob. Car started fine, and when I got to work, alarm set fine.

Very strange!

The car shuts the remote unlock down to save power after sitting for I think it's 7 days, could be 5 I don't recall.

yup, thats the way it is... mine sits for days at a time during winter months.
using the key to unlock, turn to the left or the alarm will sound, get the key into the ignition and turn it on quickly or the alarm will sound.
after the next sequence of locking the car with the remote you are back to normal until of course it sits for a few days again.

Cool

Mine goes to "manual" after 5 days. Key in lock to open. No alarm. Works normal after that, unless 5 days pass again. Owner's Manual confirms.

Nice to see that you drive you car frequently enough that it took 3 months for you to discover this.
