Default (PICS) Dr. Colorchip and Griot's random orbital polisher results

So I decided to buy the new Griot's random orbital polisher to eliminate swirl marks and Dr. Colorchip to hide stone chips on the hood and bumper.

Results were actually very good.

PS: I LOVE MY HEADLIGHTS

Also some gratuitous pics comparing the hips of the 997 Turbo vs 996 C4

I'm curious about the difference as well. I have a number of rock chips on my hood so if this can be fixed at home I would love it!

Sorry - I had no before pics.
What I can say is that it definitely worked for me.
Forums say that it doesn't work well for silver cars.

I think you missed a spot on the bumper. It's shown in the first pic to the right on where the light is shining. tsk tsk...

i used dr. colorchip on my arctic silver car, and it did not work great. it was alright for shallow chips, but the deeper ones definitely turned out darker than the surrounding paint.

I used the Griot's One Step with the Orange pad buffer.
I found it was more than enough to get swirl marks out without taking too much clearcoat off the paint. And my car is a daily driver (not a concourse car) so it was good enough for me...

I didn't want to spend 4 hrs detailing so :

1. Dr Colorchip was about 1 hr of work
2. Polishing was about 1 hr of work

2 hrs and I was done - I am amazed how people spend 4 hrs or more detailing but I personally have a hard time finding that much time...

Wow how did you polish the car in just an hour? I have the orbital buffer but even with that it takes a while. I think 4 hours for total detail is about average. I've been wanting to do mine but as you mentioned, getting the time to do it is a challenge.

Hey Roadsession,
Nice work and welcome to Griot's! The clay/speed shine/blue microfiber combo is the best. Works great on your glass, too! Once your car has been detailed, then next time is much faster. I can wash, clay, polish and wax in less than 90 minutes.
