Today, in the mail, I got an invitiation for an event at my local airport called the Porsche Aircraft Experience.
"experience the thrill of driving a Porsche on a closed tarmac with professional Porsche instructors"
Also "Demo the latest in aircraft from Piaggio, Embraer, Cirrus, Bell, Robinson, Diamond, ..... and many more"
Has anyone been to one of these? Are they worth taking time off of work to attend?

Haven't done w/ Porsche (did not know about it either), but have done a closed runway thing, and a jet demo thing, both are cool. Compared to work? Dude you can drive a 911 down an airstrip with no speed limit before sipping champagne on a private jet, or you can do what you do every day!

Talked to a guy who did it in Seattle. He enjoyed it--for a planned marketing event. Drove some cars that would have been awkward to ask the dealer just to take for a ride; saw some interesting airplanes.
