FS 2003 996 C2 Tip - $$20.995!
New price: $20.995!
Seal Gray with black interior. PSM, Bose Stereo, Xenon Headlights, Leather Package, Electric Seats with Key-memory and 18-inch rims.
Car is in great condition, the interior is immaculate, and the exterior is also in great condition, with the exception of some stone chips on the front and a few small clear coat scratches. It has 99k miles, but still looks and drives like new. See ad for more details.
I welcome any comments

In '03, Tiptronic was a $3,200 option on the Boxster, and perhaps a similar amount on the 911. This was a costly premium for people who wanted that transmission.
However, since overall demand is likely higher for manual transmission used cars, I'm guessing that it may be a bit harder to sell a used Tiptronic; hence, the discounted price.
What are you thoughts on this notion?

depends on where you are and whom you're selling to. Tips carry premiums in NYC, London, HK, other high density major cities around the world. In much of America this is not the case though and the tips will sell below. My guess is this has to do with the relative percentages of autos vs manuals in the US vs abroad, and the relative population/traffic density.

The KBB value is higher for Tip, but there are probably less buyers, very similar to convertibles I guess. America definitely has the highest amount of automatic cars of any country in the world, but I guess that might work either way; there might be more people who want auto, but there might also be more people who want something else than an auto since all their previous cars have been automatics.
The car is in Santa Barbara, so pretty close to LA and the crazy LA traffic. That's why I got a Tip when I bought it.
As for the price, I am moving so I would prefer to sell the car before I move. I aimed for being the lowest price MkII 996 in the country, there are two others with similar prices (but less options and bad color combos) that came out in the last few days, but mine is still the cheapest 2003 model

I bought my tip for LA traffic as well! After rowing gears in major metros for years, it was the best decision I ever made, since it wound up back in NYC, even worse than LA if you can imagine. I'm sure it will go quickly, good luck with the sale from one former Angeleno (and another Hans) to another.
Best,
Hans

I got my brother-in-law 996, 6spd 4 years ago only because he could not take the heavy LA traffic anymore too, so he decided to upgrade to the new 997.1 tip. I am glad I got his old 996 6spd, beatiful car.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys!
I get emails and phone calls from people every now and again, but either they disappear or they give me low-ball offers. I am open to offers, as long as they are reasonable. This car truly is exactly like the other 03 996s that are for sale for over $30k, the only difference is the number of miles displayed in the speedo. This car is truly in exceptional condition.

I didn't see an option for changing the thread title/subject, is there one or do I have to ask a mod to do it?
