Thanks,Yeah K/N....which was supposed to go into a chevy colorado pickup...but same diameter...and a bit larger than the black filthy mess that came with the evom intake. Its one of the generic ones that autozone carries.

Wow! Finally see another car with the exact same first generation CAI as mine!! I guess we both have the original version of the EVOMS intake. I love the sound at high revs.

Fabspeed headers and exhaust is a very nice combo especially with flash. The CAI makes the high RPM sound sweeter. I have the Gen I EVOMS intake also and think it gets a lot of warm air into the intake when not moving. Gen II solved that issue..

I've been toying with the idea of building a shroud over the exposed air filter so that all of the air it gets would have to be from the snorkel. Anyone ever try that?

Pete,

I thought about that and was trying to figure out how outside cold air would still be "rammed" in efficiently..

my thinking was that on a stock intake, it is sealed and all air comes in via snorkel so the cai would do the same only over the larger filter and pipe that goes to the throttle body? Either that or fabricate a funnel that extends the area where the filter is upwards to seal against the decklid like the newer Evoms gen II.
May never get around to it but it swirls around my mind every once in a while!!

the mk1 already have varioram.... unless you use FI.... additional normal "ramming" will have no effect.... getting colder air is more important, to a point.
