Default About that clutch pedal mod....

so i pulled the spring out of my clutch pedal and it worked as advertised. I have a quick question about it though. the little microswitch that is located aft of the pedal , (not the clutch switch) i think i read something about the "anti-stall switch". I noticed that after i removed the spring the clutch travel is much less and the pedal no longer retracts against the switch. the car felt sluggish prior to me zip tying it in. Anyone have any issues with this? i was thinking about removing the switch and jumping the wires.

FYI - the clutch pedal has a little more left to right play in it ever since i removed the spring.

clutch delay switch:

modifies the throttle map (makes it less sensitive) so you have to push the throttle pedal deeper to get increase the throttle while the delay is in effect.

Just remember that in doing so, the 'cancel cruise control' via the clutch pedal is now null and void. This means that accidentally depressing the clutch during cruise control engagement, that the engine will continue to explosion, unless manually cancelled. BE WARNED!!!!!

To the rev limiter, anyway.

Get a weak compression spring at a hardware store, cut to length if necessary and install it. It will extend the clutch pedal to the full topped out position and have no ill-effect on anything else.

Yes it will, but trust me, you will eventually hit the clutch pedal by mistake and surprise!

If you need a weaker spring... I may have one somewhere, PM me your address and I'll get it to you. This is the way to go IMHO. Taping the switch is a rig job.

wow does this thread explain a lot for me. My wires were ripped off this switch at some point and I just put them back together to make my cruise work again. Ever since I have I have been slipping the clutch a lot more than I used to.. I think I am going to zip tie that sucker up. I thought I blew through a clutch already in 5000 miles.
