I've used a V1 now every since I've owned my 02 Boxster (since Jan. 02) and it has paid for itself many times over.

Makes one more aware of the road which is a good thing. And provides situational awareness for those few times -- 2 -- I've been pulled over and given a ticket with the V1 in the car. (One time the officer did not even clock me with radar, laser, or even paced me, just saw me change lanes from way back and I watched the car come barrelling up with lights on to pull me over. Contested the ticket. He never showed up for the court date.)

Chances are even with my V1 in the car I'm not nearly the fastest driver on the road. Since I drive in areas where Porsches are not common I know police will be eyeballing my car and I want plenty of warning before I get within range of the radar gun.

Anyhow. V1. I like the arrows.

Sincerely,

Macster.

I have a Escort Solo 2. It takes 2 AA batteries that last quite a long time. I like it because of no electric cords to the lighter and you can take it from car to car. Never got a ticket with it......its when I don't have it is when I get into trouble.

Might depend a little on where you live . . . I live a little outside of town, so am not annoyed by the level of false alarms of the V1. The arrows are really addicting. Nice to know if the patrol is in front or behind. Sensitivity is great. Also, the V1 is just a natural for hard wiring in the P-car.

The 9500 is pretty nice. Perhaps the most annoying thing about the Escort 9500 is simply that the power supply comes in from the left. So if you hard wire you look at the cord all the time. Kind of an odd choice on the part of Escort.

Valentine One (v1) has a really kick *** one on the market. It can even be programmed to avoid known false alarm areas with its built in gps....

V1 is the best and has been my choice for many years, but as far as I know they do not have a GPS enabled model.

Instant on is all thats been used around here for a long time. After traffic police went laser its just no warning at all. Only thing that gets you out of a ticket is being a policeman. I've heard some of those jammer things work but I'm not sure how receptive a guy pulling the car over would be to being jammed. Then the old ambush tactics the mobile solobikers with laser guns use its a bust anyway.

Escort has worked well for me but ONLY if you believe it EVERY time..... If you second guess it then why spend the $$ in the first place.....

Both v1 and the 9500 are great detectors. If you have to have the arrows get a v1. If you don't care where th cop is but ust wanna know that you need to hit the brakes then a 9500 is fine. I've used both and prefer the 9500. If you drive a lot in highly populated areas the gps lockout feature on the 9500 is a lifesaver to keep you from going nuts. Another awesome feature of the 9500 is that it doesn't go off if you're going under 10mph. So no annoying alerts in parking lots. And if you're not hard wiring it, the power cord on escorts are cool in that they have a mute button and an led alert. I believe the escort has slightly longer range too. Now if cops in your area use laser then you'll need laser countermeasures too. Both blinder and laser interceptor make good products. Laser interceptor always appears to outperform blinder but at a substantially higher price.

A few months after I got the C4S, I went for the V1 and I love it. I gave the wife my old 8500 (obviously not as good as the 9500), which just got a tune up.

Only thing I don't like about the V1 is that it doesn't have the auto mute like the Escort. On the V1 you have to actually push the button to lower the volume.

It appears they go between $450-$500 for a V1. Where's is the best place to buy one amazon or somewhere else?
