Default Ball joint squeek be gone!

Zerked up all 4 ball joints and all 4 outer tie rod ends. Used a #3 drill and a 1/4" NF bottoming tap. No worries about drill chunk residue since all the joints were bone dry, but used a small pick tool and a vacuum to clean up inside anyway.

Seems from most posts the consensus is that the rubber bushing makes the noise, but in my case it seems it was the ball joints themselves. Time will tell, as the various squeaks did not occur until the car was driven more than 45 minutes. After 4 hours of driving it was like an old buggy with all the squeaks and that was what motivated me to do this.

But, so far so good!

enjoy

Had the same problem with my 1970 911. The trick back then was about 8CC of ATF through the bellows with a hypodermic needle to shut them up.
