With the explosion of traffic cams you'ld think the car could be traced to an area at least before it was parked away. Good luck recovering it and dealing with the insurance company.

Holy crap, Batman! How in the world does someone steal a P-car? Mine is so secure that even I can't get into it w/ a key sometimes (had a broken lock mechanism). Seriously- how did they start the car or turn the steering wheel w/o a key? Where was it parked? Did they simply drag it onto a flatbed and drive away w/ it?

Very sorry, but that's what insurance is for I guess....what a bummer! I hope Dennis will agree w/ me that having your car stolen is even worse than a dent-and-run.

Unfortunately the car was probably exported over seas.....its a big problem you dont hear about much....VINs can be altered and sold on the black market. A big buyer is russia.

Hopefully for you its still stateside and is recovered in safe condition.

I do hope its legit and not an ins fraud due to IMS or other catistrophic failure. All his posts are abotu his stolen car.

Why isnt the ins company paying for the car?
Either way, I do hope justice is served.

Sorry to hear. Hope you find it soon. Have faith. There are instances of BMWs spotted/recovered by forum members.

Even if the insurance pays, there is no way it will cover the actual value of the car with the mods, maintenance, etc.

At least they may just dump it on the street when they see it's relative to a showroom car a total track car!
