Default Spring is here.... How can we help?

Hey there everyone,

While I realize that the weather varies from state to state, it feels like spring here.

I just wanted to remind everyone that GBox is, as you might imagine, a gearbox specialist. With spring here, and more of our P-cars coming out of the garage soon, it may be time to consider a checkup on your gearbox.

If you are having issues with poor shifting, or a whining sound coming from your gearbox, it is always better to get it taken care of before it gets worse than to wait until it breaks.

If we can be of any assistance, be it with parts, or a complete rebuild please do not hesitate to contact us here. We are always here to help.

Warmest Regards, and thank God it is getting nice outside again.

I get some chatter from the gearbox in reverse gear (6 spd). Any idea what this might be?

eggo, That is a pretty difficult area of the gearbox to diagnose without actually seeing the internals to determine if there is any damage. Depending on your definition of chatter this could be a chip in the reverse gear that is making the noise. Another thing that you might have going on here, if you are referring to a shuttering of the car during backing up, would be a warped pressure plate. You would notice this problem far more during backing up then you would moving forward, as you are normally slipping the clutch a bit while in reverse.

I hope that this helps a bit, and feel free to ask me additional questions, I am certainly here to help.

Warmest Regards,

nick49- I have heard good things and a few bad over the years regarding redline oil. Personally though, I tend to hear more good than anything else. As I don't have any personal experience with the Redline products, it is tough for me to give an opinion one way or the other. Perhaps it would be a good idea to put a separate thread up asking for some feedback from actual users.

C4CRNA- I was going to actually put up a post requesting that people who have installed our 2nd gear shift lock update to chime in, however we have recently been warned about posting more than three advertising posts per month, and this might be interpreted as being such an ad. You are more than welcome to create a post of this nature yourself, however, as I know that we have more than 40 of these out there now, and have gotten some feedback on other sites. It would be nice to have some feedback from people here as well. I think you will be pleased with what people have to say about the results, but I also think that it will hold more weight hearing it from them rather than from me.

Thanks for the question.
