This is for the 997 but you get the idea, only difference is the pipe you use, or just buy FisterD's for 225

KJ,
Check out these two links.
The first link gives you the MK II mod on some 3.6L mufflers.
Step by Step Pics of PSE MK II Mod
The second link gives and overview of MK I versus MK II mods.

i am so going to do the PSE MK I mod to my OEMs,,
what is the recommended diameter for the bypass tube?
in you post you recommended 0.75"-1.25" but, someone called GUNDO recommended 1.5"-2",,
i need the deepest sound with minimum drone possible,,

There will be no drone on either the MK I or the MK II mod, no matter what size pipe you use. The 997 mufflers are slightly different from the 996 muflers.

my $0.02 Ive had FVDs and heard many times Fabspeed on my buddy's. I myself installed back the hacked/ala PSE design muffs back. I like their sound better than the two. I wish I knew all the sounds before spending the $$$, and I could have saved. IMHO they're are the closest to the signature porsche sound.
Search "Hack" mufflers here, there are atl least 3 DIYs Ive seen.
Im using ivangene pix below.

Ive adjusted those tips at least 50 times on both my 996 and 997, and able to get them lined up playing with their individual beltclamps. Does yours have the ring inserts?

There is a clamp that connects the exhaust tip to the muffler outlet pipe. This is the clamp that is a pain in the **** and the same one that helps you adjust the exhaust tips. I was putting on some tequipment tips (from a fellow RL) last nite and only got one on in 2 1/2 hours of farting around with the clamp and the tip. Tonite is round 2.
When you put your mufflers on did you also loosely attach the exhaust tips and then tighten the clamp after the muffler is in in place? Lot easier doing it that way. I'm putting my tips on the hard way and access is a bugger!

Thanks guys for pointing to my FS thread.
KJ - the pse hack sound is more subtle. Its very close to OEM non pse around town and gets louder when you get on it. The fabspeeds are significantly louder and more aggressive sounding but not obnoxiously so. They do get much louder then pse hacked ones at WOT... The price diff if not great. You can mod your stockers for around $250 (what I paid) or buy (my ) fabspeeds around $200 more.
