Default Turbo bumper

Will a twin turbo bumper front bumper fit a 2001 narrow body cab? I mean considering I change the headlights and hood to new style?

Yes, BUT you would need to change your headlights, front fenders and associated hardware.

you also need to create a little brackets for the bottom section... the turbo bumper wont line up with the body bottom mounting points.... no biggie though. Some people cut the original bumper, use its mounting points and extends a section to mount the bottom turbo bumper.

I was contemplating installing a turbo nose to my 2003 C2 as well.

Would they fit perfect on the 2003 C2 ? or there is also some fitting to be done ?

I'd assume that Porsche in their infinity wisdom of cost saving would have tried to share parts: turbo, c4s, 40th anniversary...

am I wrong ?

So I keep the same hood? Just different fenders, headlights and hardware? Would the hid be a special harness or woukdmi have to hack it?

No, but it will fit a Miata.

I'm sure there is a detailed write-up on this. Do a 996 forum search for this. It has been done many times over.

Personally, I don't see the draw to changing a car to a model year it is not.

Here's a good start start:

It would probably be easier to find a third-party body kit bumper that's already fitted for a C2 and whole lot less complicated to install - there's lots to be had out there...

You really should sell your car and buy a turbo if that is what you want.

I see you consistantly struggling to make your car into something else. You really don't like it the way it is?

You use the word "hack" in your sentence above. The whole car will become a "hack" and diminish the value dramatically most likely never to be recovered.

But it's your car, do what you will.

Selling what you already have to buy a turbo is usually easier said than done - not hard to believe that if he had the additional $10K-$15K to upgrade to a turbo, he probably would already have done it... so if the car is in itself a 90% solution, he should customize it to his liking, there's a reason there's tons of aftermarket body kits out there.

By the way, that "diminish value" thing? Way overrated, if you look around at prices, the value has already diminished - these things aren't classics and to pretend that the value will hold just because yours looks like it came off the lot is fantasy - these '01s are already nearly 10 years old and there's nothing special about the car (other than it's a Porsche) that would make one more valuable than another Porsche (given the same model, mileage, condition, etc.)

If you're really worried about value, buy one and leave it in the garage - that way it won't get any miles and you'll be able to sell it for a little more than the next guy... but that's not the reason I bought mine...

Very true, It's one thing to "mod" a car a quite another to "hack" it into a FrankenPorsche
But at the end of the day, it's YOUR car so do whatever makes you happy and tell anyone who has an issue with that to get lost!

here is a very Turbo-ish bumper for a Mk 1

Rudy, you wouldn't happen to be a tad bit biased would you?
