Default Fault codes - what to do?

Today, after starting the car, I noticed the idle was rougher than usual, and the "Check Engine" light was on. I needed to run an errand, and the car ran fine, and the idle was smooth and normal after the engine warmed up. After I returned home, I hooked up my Durametric scanner and it came up with two fault codes, as follows:

P0446 - Factory Fault Code 95 (Evap. Cannister shut off valve (function)

P1109 - Unknown fault code 1109

This is for a 2003 X51 engine, DME 7.2, installed in a '99C4. I have driven the car for a year and 15,000 km since the engine transplant, and this is the first time the CEL went on and faults were found.

Any suggestions as to how to proceed? Thanks.

P0446 EVAP Canister Shutoff Valve (Function) – Below Limit
Possible causes:
– Purge air line blocked
– Flow resistance of EVAP canister too high

P1109 does not come up on any of my lists. I would reset it and see if it comes back.

Thanks redridge and Loren.

I cleared the codes with the diagnostic tool. After clearing, the tool automatically checks for codes again. There were none. So far, so good. Then, before starting the engine, I removed the gas cap and inspected it and found no sign of any wear or deterioration in the seal area. Put in back on with 5 or 6 clicks, started the engine. The CEL did not come on. Since then, I have driven the car about 50 km, with numerous shut downs and startups. All appears to be well. So, maybe the gas cap was not seated properly, as redridge suggested.

If the CEL comes on again at a later time, I will check out the cannister per Loren's advice. Thanks again for your help, guys.
