Opportunity presents itself? - Random road object 1 - Me 0
So I am driving home late last night in the pouring rain on the highway (4 lane divided) when all of a sudden out of the ditch a large golf umbrella blows into the road right in front of me... WTF!!!!????
I swerved hard and avoided most of it (awesome traction by the tires in the wet and responsiveness by the car), but clipped it. The handle must have struck the underside of the bumper. Could not see any damage in the dark on the side of the road, but while washing the car this morning....
Well the cover needed a respray from due to the road rash, so as I see it, I can
If I were to go with the last what would be the recommended bumper cover upgrade for a 1999 C4.

Well the cover needed a respray from due to the road rash, so as I see it, I can
- Using my bumper repair kit fix and repaint (less expensive, less certain outcome, somewhat boring)
- Buy a new cover and repaint (right fix, also not that interesting and )
- Upgrade and paint (fun, but potential expensive)
If I were to go with the last what would be the recommended bumper cover upgrade for a 1999 C4.

leave it for a while... and think about it. The answer will come... but its a great time to drive it and not worry about that happening
Sorry about your mishap
glad you get to make some changes

Maybe the owners name is in the umbrella.........some have a spot on the handle for inserting the name.
There is a guy on the east coast area with a company great at this repair. Some guys that fly their tails in the wind also know how to do it without the bike

Wasn't my car. Although while eating lunch at the golf course with the p-car club I wanted a race around the course with everybody. Golf clubs through the winscreen and scrapes from driving close enough to grab the pins would of kept the body shop busy for a long time.

I think an aero kit (GT3) bumper and a chin spoiler would look very nice (but it'll compromise ground clearance a little bit.
For the cost of repairing and painting it yourself, you could get another one and keep one as a spare (in case your results don't come out as good as you expect).
