Personally not a fan of a wearing harnesses attached to a harness bar w/o any roll over protection. I would double check with whoever decides safety for the group you will be on track with. Around me porsche club dissallowed these in 2009, maybe even nationally.

The instructions are on the Sparco USA website, the install is very straightforward, just sandwich the harness bar shoulder mount under the stock 3pt seatbelt shoulder anchors.

Same thing at the bottom.

Good luck,

Default 996 Sparco Harness Bar Install

Since there isnt an install thread for the 996 Sparco Harness Bar...lets see if we can make one.

Note: The bar is being installed primarily as a camera mount and to provide temporary harness location until a full cage & GT3 seats are installed. The car is not raced.

Here is the 996 Sparco Harness bar part # 30004
Shown is the b-pillar cross bar and the 2 support struts which triangulate the cross
bar for support. The rod ends are both left & right handed so that after installation the struts can be snugged up tight to remove all slop.

Here is the harness bar installed and one of the struts hanging in the general area of where it will be fastened.

Here is a closeup of the harness bar attached to the B-Pillar.
The longer (supplied) bolt is used to pinch the bar tab between the original shoulder belt and the B-Pillar belt mounting point.

There was a little confusion around where all the pieces went. It has been cleared up below.

The mustang and other pdf below have brackets simular to yours. Just figure out what would possibly work or bend on yourself. It does look like possibly the two holes together go to the floor with one at the seat runner bolt and the other hole for the end of the runner. Looks like a peg is welded to the runner and might fit the hole so that its the bolt and peg securing the bracket.

Here's how it installs at the seat base. You pick either hole depending on the angle you want the bar to sit at. You should also have a washer type piece with only two holes. That piece goes on the opposite rear connection and works to balance out the seat height difference caused by this piece..

The lower mount plates shown in this photo are fastened underneath the seat rails.
The smaller "oval" plate with 2 holes is used on the opposite seat rail to keep the seat level.

(In my mind this bracket may be optional as the thickness is only a few mm)

The bolt for the rear track is removed and the angle bracket is slide underneath the track. There is a "pin" under the track (forward of the bolt) that sticks down into a locating hole. Therefore the track must be lifted a good inch or so higher to be able to slide the new mount bracket under the tip of the "pin".

The photos have switched from driver's side to pass side and back, so dont be confused by that.
This photo shows the support bracket located under the "pin" (forward of bolt hole) and ready for the bolt to be replaced.

Attach the lower end of the support leg and you're all set to go. Note, this leg could be bolted to the support either on the inside or outside of the tab. I found changing this allowed me to create just enough pressure against the side of the seat back that it prevent any vibration/rattling from the harness bar.
