Its intersting to me that you guys say these babies get seasoned and sound better after some miles. Why would that be? I have put close to a thousand miles on my cans after the hack and they sound the same. Bitchin for sure but exactly the same. What am I not getting?

Did you go with the Stage 1 (2.25" pipe from unused port to outflow pipe) or Stage 2 (1.5" bypass pipe between inflow and outflow pipes)? Darin says Stage 2 is louder.

I Will be on the prowl for those at hershey... and of course a giant wing that wont fit your car.

also, with the H4's you can get a paintable trim ring that goes over the chrome.

I would assume stage 1 and it's loud enough for me, and my neighbors.

Just the "cans" the modded mufflers are $225/exchange
and yes I installed them myself.

I'd like something a little more vocal on my stock 996... but still on the fence about it.

and last one: did you install yourself ?

Especially after my recent adventure w/ the Cayenne exhaust system (Cargraphics from the cats back and a noise ticket 48 hours later).

I really have to say that the DIY muffler hack is awesome. Not only does it sound great, but it has a very progressive volume that only gets really angry at WOT. Best bang 4 the buck 4 sure!
