Another question that is on my mind today is what is the manufactured retail price on the OEM 6cd changer for 996's? What comes with it? The reason I am asking is because I am thinking about selling it. I don't need it I have an aftermarket cd/mp3/ipod alpine system with Navi
Thanks

People still use CD changers? I sold mine 4 years ago for $200. Check eBay if you are trying to get a feel for the current market on these things. I would imagine the $200 I sold mine for 4 years ago would be the same ballpark.....maybe $100- $150 depending on how badly the seller wants to part with it.

For the amount of time I listen to the music in the car it's not worth the hassle to install the Ipod thing, dont own one.

The nice thing about the ipod is YOU determine the compression. iTunes allows you to determine what level of compression you prefer when you rip a CD. What I did one weekend is haul out my boxees of about 400 CD's and start importing them. But I only imported the "good" songs from each.
The sound system in these cars isn't exactly hi end so the sound is very good when hooked up to the head unit via aux-in (99-02) or ever better, line in (fiber optic 03+ cars).
As far as keeping up with it.....I just add any new music to my iTunes library when I buy it online at the iTunes store and my iPod and iPhone sync up when connected to charge.
Come on Geoff, it's 2010, get with it!
