Welcome to RL. I think the wheels you have look quite good. 18s look really good on a 996. I think 19s can look good, but I think 20s might be a little freakish on this car. That's my opinion anyway... stick with the 18s!

Here are some more pics. The shadow are not with me so I tried to get higher resolution.
The "funny" thing is that the rear seems to sit much lower than the front...
Where is the best place to post 'maintenance' newbie question ? I have a couple of good ones

I think it would look good as long as you have the proper offset.
Of course, if this is a track car, they are too big from what others have said.
Street should be fine, just a little rough.

looks like stock height. The front may level out with a full tank of fuel. It looks like nice tires and wheels aready. 20's would be a bit much for the car, it would probably raise it even higher rather than fill in the fenderwell. Even 19's will raise the car a slight bit even with correct tire sizing.

Welcome to the group!
Please stick with 18's. The ride height looks like US stock to me........you will find a plethora (boy that's a grown up word) of info here regarding suspension, trust me I went through it myself.

Those 18"s look great on your Porsche. Nice looking ride. Guess I'd say that 20's, depending on weight would penalize your comfort and handling...but it's your $ in the end.

Okay guys, yes. I have dubs (20's) on my C4S w/lo-pros (low profile tires) I'm sorry.
Does it ride harsh. No. Do they scrape? No. Do they grip good? Good enough. Do they look good (are they real?) They are SPECTACULAR
Just a f*ck#n' bucket full of awesomeness. I mean, they are okay.
Got a very good deal on them w/tires....cheaper than buying new 18" tires.
But I have regular springs/shocks right now and just last night bought some H&R's and 7mm & 14mm spacers. We'll see if I get rubbing, if so, a fender roll.

That's very true, yet no one will tell you why larger (than 18) wheels are bad for you. People will mention weight (but you can get lighter weighing 19's or 20's than stock) or suspension geometry, but no one has any true evidence of why larger wheels are bad. It may be true that they may ride rougher, but if you are willing to live with that, you should be okay.
