Smile Story of Arena Red

A few of you have mentioned the story of Arena Red representing gladiator blood. Is this something that is documented or an idea that somebody made up? My car is orient red and I am wondering if there is a story behind the color; or should I just make one up

Not made up at all. It represents the color of the blood spilled in the "Arena" during battle. Many of the Porsche colors have stories behind them.

The story behind Arena Red is true.

Orient Red got its name because it was the color of the seal of the 16th century Chinese Emperor Nowegotcha who was in power durning the first European visits to the Far East. All official documents had that seal, so the saying became that if Europeans in China had "Orient Red", they were there at the invitation of the Emperor.

More likely 'arena' (sand in Spanish) refers to the gold metal flake in the deep red paint giving it a golden (sand) tone in certain light

Guards Red was named after the color of the coats worn by the guards at Buckingham palace.

I am just kidding. I made that up! If it happens to be true, it was just dumb luck!

Carrara White is named after the white marble that is mined in Carrara, Italy. This one is true.

Actually, "Guards Red" is known as Indian Red outside the USA market. They changed it to be politically correct.
