Default replaced battery and now driver side window doesnt work

Ok, my battery died on car during storage and I had to replace it. Now when I tried to start the car with the old battery it wouldn't turn over but I did notice that both windows were going up/down about 1/2" or so. just up/down,up/down until I stopped trying to have motor turn over.

I install new battery and the drivers side is not doing anything, although the passenger side works perfect. It wont move up/down when the door handle is engaged, or goes up/down with the switch. When I depress the switch I can hear a clicking in the door but nothing moves. I even tried to get it to move by putting the key in and working the windows w/the key. Again passenger side works, driver side nothing.

Ideas?

fuses all seem good. Plus it seems that one fuse supplies both windows so either both should work, or both won't work?

I wonder if re-calibration by holding the switch down would make any difference in this instance. Did you try that? Hold the switch in the "window closed" position for about 20 seconds, and then try to open it. If it goes down, hold it i the down position for about 20 seconds. I have no idea if this will work, but it might not hurt to try...

My suggestion is to look in the owner's manual for guidance. This same topic, for example, is covered in my Audi owner's manual about how to "reset/recalibrate" the windows. Good luck!

Have you ran the car since installing the new battery? If the voltage is low in it that can mess with the window functionality.

Best of luck to ya. I kind of wonder if the electronic brains of the car are also a little sensitive to spikes like connecting the battery back inline.

I tried the recalibration and nothing. What about the relays. Does the switch feed a relay? I'm just grasping at air because my next step is taking the door panel off?

That sounds logical for your next step.
