Default Venting- washed my car and discovered new scratch from falling objects in my garage

After all this warm weather the last few weeks, I've been driving my car to work. Needless to say it's gotten quite dirty. The other day before driving my car, I noticed that an old toy train set had fallen from the upper shelf from above. It fell on a hand truck and it intern fell and hit my rear bumper on the corner leaving a half inch scratch. Unfortunately, this one isn't going to buff out and I'll have to touch it up for the time being and in the long run respray the rear bumper as otherwise it's flawless.

Had the car cover been on, this more than likely would not have the mark but I didn't want to cover a dirty car.

Argggg! Thanks for letting me vent.

That does suck.
First rule: Never have storage, rakes, brooms, bikes around the Porsche that can fall and cause damage. Leave all that stuff for the other side of the garage, or the attic.

2nd rule: even if you follow all the rules to keep your Porsche nick and dent free...somehow they still happen, at least from my experience. Bummer.

4th rule - if in doubt, read rule number one again.

Hence the reason I'm taking her in tomorrow to get a 3 inch long scratch repaired. In the winter it's parked in the 3rd garage and my fat a** clears a workbench by about 1/2 inch (vertical) - well this winter, some dumba** backed it in and was a little off - it killed me.

always scared me on the black paint...my garage is so tight and if the car was dirty... an a$$ rub down the door or fender would cause great pain.

rule #5 - get smaller a$$

Watched one of those classic car shows a few years back that was sponsored by Hagerty Insurance. They said the #1 claim on older classic cars was damage from falling objects in the garage. And the worst offender was bicycles hung on the wall or ceiling.

Rule #7 -

Your chimney cap, and the terra cotta liner, may lift up and go flying during a Nor'Easter, falling on the front end and damaging your driver side headlight and front bumper.

Off to the beauty salon this Thursday.

No doubt that your damage incurred may have been a touch worse than the OP. Was a it a piece of the flue lining or the entire length? That really su%ks.

I parked under a tree while in the Post Office couldn't been more then 10 min. When I came out there was a small branch laying across the rear deck. Good news is that "Dent buster" thinks he can make the 3dimples go away. I'll find out Wed.

Crap, sounds like my garage. I won't even mention the roof box that I have hanging from the ceiling above the car (although I've got multiple bungees and rope as backups).
