Default EVOM V-flow fitment issue on 996

I recall some people having issues with the fitment of this intake. Was this ever resolved?

Okay, I attempted the install this morning. When installed, mounting screw for the L-bracket contacted the sheet metal surrounding the hinge. With the L-bracket in place the back of the unit contacted the PS pulley.

If I removed the L-bracket I bought myself 1/8" clearance but the unit is unsecured. I'm not comfortable with that tight of a clearance and certainly not with the intake unsecured.

I'm going to email EVO and see if there are any easy fixes. I thought I'd just be able to switch out the screw on the bracket but even then it's a little too close for comfort. I'm not sure what I'm going to do at this point.

So you have it shifted to the passenger side to avoid contact with the L-bracket. I notice you don't have it secured with the bracket. Interesting. Thanks for the pictures. Here's what it looks like in mine.

Fits mine perfectly. Must be my lucky charms; first the Recaro seats, now the Evo V-F.

Maybe you have the "L" bracket upside down.... One is longer than the other (my guess).

Default evom fit

looks like fly996 doesn't have the EVOM bracket for the air pump installed- installing this will move pump more to left allowing CAI to move to left and not hit air pump.

I've had the EVOM on my 02 996 for few yrs with L clamp fitting perfect in stock hole. Not sure what the issue is with yours-

67FJ45's picture shows the relocation bracket on the left. It moves and rotates the pump clockwise to give more room for the intake.

EVOMS part that came with the intake.

I just took some measurements of airflow with the unit. I'll post those in a new discussion thread. The tolerance between the pulley and the intake is DAMN tight. There's no way I can use the bracket. I was honestly hoping to see no difference in airflow so I could have a good excuse to take it out and sell it, but there were certainly gains from ~4000 rpm and up.

I have it as well and it fit fine in my '00 996 Cab. I used the new airp pump bracket that came with the kit...although it wasn't mentioned in any of the directions that I had to go the web site and look up (instead of being included with the kit) all this for the low low price of $695. I was not impressed.

+1.... mediocre quality build, they've couldve built a small flange where the rubber bellows (attached to the lid) meets the intake. But does the intake really line up with the bellows? They couldve just copied that section from porsche stock intake.... but they cheapened out and decided to just hacksaw it. And the plastic mold that was used? WTF.... mold lines everywhere, def 3rd wolrd grade build. Def not $700 material.

However.... its the best sounding intake there is.... And I wouldnt necessarily call it a "cold" intake either. I think Porsche has the best "cold" intake design, but sounds a bit dull.

Exactly - you need the new bracket for the secondairy air pump. You can see my install thread here:
