Dropping a tip
All this recent posting about the IMS retrofit has me wanting to make an attempt at this job since I've noticed a black "sweat" at the magic spot - BUT - my C4S is a Tip.
Searched long & hard but didn't find anything specific to Tiptronic drop or removal, let alone on an AWD car. And the 996 manual available at cannell only references 986/Boxster for the automatic - it's not the Mk2 unit and not AWD.
Anyone with experience who can offer specific tricks or gotchas with dropping a Mk2 Tiptronic S? For AWD is it simply a matter of unbolting the flange which connects the shaft leading to the final drive up front?
