I usually work on mine, but since this was a major service and I didn't feel like messing with the brake system flush and the changing of the differentials and tranny fluid, I took it in.

My rear pads are at 4mm, and my fronts are at 6mm, so I suspect I'll be doing pads and rotors on mine in the next 6 months.

Dennis, that sounds like a fair deal

for me I am all done with all of those except the plugs (which I fully expect to find some cracked coils which is why I have not gone in there yet $$$$)

nice job, glad you are back driving

Did most of the work myself and had the dealer change tranny oil, check for fault codes, and run down the 90K check list. Also had 4 wheel alignment performed. Total cost was $381 at the dealer, and other parts were not more than $250, including throttle plate cleaner, engine oil, plugs and various oil, air, and pollen filters that I did myself. The dealer cost also included the alignment. And they provided a loaner car to boot. Granted I try to do most of the service on my '99 996 myself, which definitely helps keep the cost down, but I don't hesitate to take it to these guys when there is anything I don't want to/can't handle.

dfaw56 - wait a minute, you've been a member of this board since September of last year, and this is your first post? Whatcha been doin for the past 11 months? The proper answer is "driving my car all over hill and dale."

Now you've opened the can of worms. Need pix, or you risk being banned from the forum!!!!
