Extended warr waiting period!
I found a, what seems to be, descent ex warranty for my car with fidelity. A 4 yr/55 thou bmpr to bmpr for $3275 w $100 ded per visit. They told me the waiting period is 30 days and 1000 miles! I don't drive my car much, And 1000 could take 5 or 6 months to accumulate! I was told this is the standard as far as waiting periods go with all the companies that offer them.

I would be interested in whether it is 30 day OR 1000 miles, or, 30 day AND 1000 miles (which doesn't make sense).
Incidentally, I purchased Fidelity warranty on Feb 5th when I bought the car and it states very clearly on page 2 of 8 (Form D-100) "SERVICE CONTRACT PERIOD: Coverage under this Service Contract begins on the 'Service Contract Purchase Date' shown on the front of this Service Contract and expires according to the Term or Mileage of the plan selected, whichever comes first..."
I assumed all Fidelity Warranty Services contracts were the same as the form has options for plan coverage (i.e. Gold, Platinum) and service terms (i.e. 3yr/36,000miles).
Be careful! There are several companies out there that are using the name Fidelity. The one, as I understand it, that is recognized by many of the Porsche Dealers is Fidelity Warranty Services out of Deerfield, FL.

30 days AND 1000 miles is what I was told. The salseman also told me it IS bumper to bumper, I mean excluding wear items and maintainance! I guess its B to B as opposed to powertrain only? Whats not covered I should know about? I read somewhere that gasket leaks are not covered by some warranty company unless there is some type of major failure? This Fidelity is in FL. The guy told me that this was the platinum, actually he said the lesser type coverage was not available for my car, which I did'nt quite get, but I want as much coverage as they offer anyway.
I backed out at the last minute when they told me about the 1000 mile part. I have no problem with the 30 days, but the car is a weekend driver and it may take me 6 months to put on the mileage. I may have to bite the bullet though. Just drive it alot to get the 1000 miles. Wow....what torture that will be

I come to find that the package I am doing is 4 yr and UP TO 56000 miles! Which means at 56000 miles my warranty expires! My car is at 37770 right now. That gives me 4 yrs and appx 18000 miles. I dont plan on driving that many miles in 4 years, but im not crazy about the little mileage part, naturally they dont point this out, they just term it in a certain way! I have 30 days to cancel. I hope I have no issues if I decide to cancel, or they will be getting a visit from me they aint gonna like very much! This Fidelity is in Delray Beach FL.
